Dr. Margaret Jamal holds a Doctorate in Christian Counseling and Human Services; Certified Philanthropic Development Officer, Executive Director and Founder of the R.A.T.E.S.™ Foundation co-founder of R.A.T.E.S. Economic Development Group, LLC.. R.A.T.E.S.™ is an acronym, which stands for Response-ability, Account-ability, Evaluation-ability, and Sustain-ability. It is a tool for organizational development focusing upon charitable entrepreneurship; When R.A.T.E.S.™ was first established, it emerged out of a church outreach project to help unite churches and community organizations to meet the needs of the homeless, hungry and neglected children. It was the foundation for her doctoral thesis and dissertation as well as her publication R.A.T.E.S. Principles for Successful Non-Profit and Human Services. Dr. Jamal’s book entitled, “Faith Legacies” is a powerful tool for program development for any believer who is serious about setting up successful faith-based human services that can reach multitudes for generations to come.

Other published titles include “When Girls Don’t Tell” which addresses here own tragic experience and recovery from revictimization from child sexual abuse; "National Treasures-U.S. Foundation Grants", "My Grant Writing Secrets" which is a book of strategies that she used to get millions of dollars in grant funds for various organizations and projects.


Working with her husband and partner, Rev. Dr. Aaron Jamal Dr. Margaret Jamal has been a federal grant reviewer, Panel Chair and also develops e-learning modules. She also writes online articles and blogs concerning charitable entrepreneurship, leadership development and grant proposal writing. Together, they have provided training and support for over 200 organizations and been responsible for raising millions of dollars in revenue for small grassroots faith-based and community organizations while personally touching countless lives with the love of Christ.
